Ann B Hursey & Lou Cabeen– IN PERSON discuss the Making of FIELD NOTES Companion

March 19, 2022 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Detail from Lou Cabeen’s FIELD NOTES Companion Artist Book, 2022

MARCH 19, 2022   1:30- 2:30 PM

Learn how my writing of Field Notes to Maya Lin’s Confluence Project Landscapes, inspired Lou Cabeen to create her artist book, FIELD NOTES Companion, now on exhibit as part of a one-woman show: FIELD NOTES at The Miller Library. (Lou has eight artist books on display, for sale at the Miller and copies of Field Notes to Maya Lin’s Confluence Project Landscapes are available for sale, too)

Listen to stories about our collaborative journey working on two projects: one a manuscript and one an artist book.

Lou will share insights into the nature of the “artist book,” and what her FIELD NOTES Companion hopes to offer its reader.

As Lou states in her Colophon, “… It took a village to make this book, and I am deeply grateful to every member of it, but special thanks are due to Maya Lin whose artwork drew us in and Ann Hursey who invited me to join her on this journey of discovery.

Because the event is on the UW Campus, guests over the age of 12 will need to provide proof of vaccination or proof of negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the event. Mask wearing is required for all library visitors
